I.  Employment needs for SY 2024-2025:

Director of Development and Marketing–Immediate

We seek a dynamic Director of Development and Marketing.  This is an extraordinary opportunity to create and build from the ground up in a school that values innovation, creativity, and exploration.

As Director of Development and Marketing, you will be the primary fundraiser responsible for developing strategies to secure annual planned giving and donor directed gifts, for writing grants, and for leading the school-wide fundraisers. In addition, you will help build and manage Sophia Academy’s brand and all aspects of marketing communications.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Organizational Skills
  • Self-Starter

Base salary plus 10% commission on funds raised over $50,000

II.  Teaching Needs for 2024-2025-2026

High School Science/Math—Spring 2025

We seek a full-time Science/Technology/Math teacher beginning Spring 2025. This position will be to teach in a “regular” classroom with a small number of students who learn differently.

Candidates should be adept at finding creative and effective ways to help students learn despite their exceptionalities. Candidates should be willing and able to teach basic classes outside their immediate certification or area of expertise and also willing to pursue professional development opportunities. Qualified individuals must have an active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Experience with hands-on creating or engineering a plus. Some experience working with students with mild/moderate learning disabilities is also preferred. Additional qualities of importance:

  • Ability to teach a wide range of subjects effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students
  • Ability to support and collaborate with other faculty members
  • Helping attitude, a cheerful and positive disposition
  • Growth mindset with a flexible and adaptable spirit

Head of School (SY 2025-26 or SY 2026-27)

Sophia Academy seeks a new Head of School to lead the school into the future. We are a racially diverse community passionately committed to celebrating the image of God in every student while providing an effective and affordable multi-sensory, hands-on education for learning differently.

Our new Head of School must wholeheartedly embrace the vision and mission of the school, have a strong drive to enhance and expand our programs so that students have more opportunities to utilize the gifts that God has given them, and bring a track record of proven skill and leadership both in and out of the classroom.
